This is a new creation, inhabited by presences, phantasms and lingering entities, which opens with a circle. Here the recurring ritornello is a driving force : a catchy tune, snatches of childhood, like a phantom in sound it instigates the canvas of a dance that is created through successive transformations. Through the poetry of his words and his music, Walid Ben Selim opens up the gateways to perception, while the setting created by Nadia Lauro concocts a space for metamorphoses and resonances. Nourished by the subterranean transmissions of Amazigh culture, Flaming Creatures brings a living memory in which dance and music become forces for manifestation. Movements arise, bearing fragments of memory, ancient songs emerge. Stories circulate between the bodies, voices and dances, weaving a vibrant multiplicity from buried materials.
