Napsis moves between song, jazz and experimental music, with an ambitious orchestral approach. An immersive and daring project, designed as much for the stage as for listening. Napsis is a project launched in 2016 centred around Maxime Van Eerdewegh (composition, keyboards) and the distinctive voice of Lou Wéry. At the crossroads of song, jazz and alternative music, the group weaves a poetic and immersive world, navigating between French and English. Influenced by artists such as Björk, Radiohead and Hiatus Kaiyote, Napsis likes to blur the lines : a gentle melody can suddenly shift into a darker, more psychedelic exploration of sound. With the ‘Is There More' project, the band is broadening its horizons by incorporating an orchestral dimension, collaborating with arranger Pierre-Antoine Savoyat for a 13-piece ensemble. This evolution culminated in the recording of an EP in 2023, affirming a rich, bold and boundless identity. Napsis offers a unique brand of alternative pop, blending acoustic orchestration with electronic textures. An immersive, powerful and unpredictable live experience.
