NewFrames is the International Film Festival of Advocacy. We put film at the centre — as an advocacy tool, a catalyst for dialogue, and a force for change. This June, we bring together filmmakers, policymakers, artists, and changemakers at the intersection of cinema, culture, and the conversations that matter. From the screens of La Cinematek to the halls of the European Parliament, the programme moves across the city — and across disciplines. To mark Darren Aronofsky's visit to Brussels, NewFrames partners with La Cinematek for a complete retrospective of his work — from his electrifying debut Pi to his most recent film, Caught Stealing. A deep dive into the universe of a filmmaker haunted by bodies, obsessions, and the limits of what it means to be human. Alongside the retrospective, Aronofsky has selected ten films that have shaped his vision of cinema and of life — a personal programme, unfiltered.
