Capturing the moment before the detonation of a firework, full of expectation and excitement. Such is the challenge that Némo Flouret sets himself. After 900 Something Days Spent in the XXth Century (2021), with its mad dash expressing utopias, he’s back with Derniers Feux, which features the talents of a joyful band of dancers and musicians. Working as a team, they put together and take apart a show into infinity, thrusting colourful pullovers through the air on high perches and shifting around massive cardboard letters. Accompanied by the spacey sound of an electric guitar or a trumpet, the performers cross the stage, leap, climb on the scaffolding and reorganize the space blurring the boundary between the stage and behind the scenes. Is it the end of the world or the beginning of something else? This futuristic chaos reveals the anguishes of a world in crisis, while setting out possible futures.
