Singers, musicians and dancers dwell within Tatiana Julien’s horrific cabaret. Known for her dynamic dance, which transforms the stage into an arena for combat, the choreographer presents En fanfaaare!, a digression around the famous aria from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, marked by the whistle register voice of the Queen of the Night. As though waking from a deep sleep the performers, dressed in pink ruffs and sequined leotards, gradually emerge from their torpor, slide along the ground, balance and leap. With their mouths wide open, they pant, growl and groan, transforming into terrifying creatures. Steadily gaining power, they unveil a concert of dance, with alternating moments of grace and cacophony. This erotic, lyrical and frenetic fanfare is well crafted to put the audience into a trance.
