Nepantla Frequencies

Nepantla Frequencies, formed by Guelay, EvaneH, Chandramathi, and Raya Noire, is a collective of four independent artists based in Cologne, London, and Montreal. Nepantla, a Nahuatl word used in Chicana literature to signify in-betweenness, relates to the lived experiences of immigration, displacement, diasporic identity and gender identity of the collective, whose members come from multiple cultural backgrounds (Caribbean, African, SWAN). Their sounds reflect on these complexities as they span from ambient, experimental, folk to witchhouse, art pop, and experimental electronic music production. The performances include live cello, synths, guitar and vocals as well as electronic produced elements. Expect mystic rhythms and angelic vocals.
