BIKECHESS

In this Kazakh comedy-drama, Dina, a journalist, spends her time covering absurd or trivial stories, thus fueling state propaganda in hopes of landing a government job. In parallel, her sister Zhanna, a queer feminist activist, faces daily persecution from the authorities. This is a gentle satire that composes its message in successive layers, but despite the sisterly bond, it leaves behind a bitter taste of social violence.
