112 events in Brussels over the next seven days — 67 exhibitions, 18 concerts, 15 community events, 6 performances and 6 screenings, across 65 venues. Everything below is free to walk into — gallery shows, community nights, open-air sets and free concerts across the next week. Anything whose price we could not confirm is left off rather than guessed at. visit.brussels

All 112 events on this page are ones we can confirm are free — we exclude anything whose price we could not verify, so this is a floor rather than every free thing happening in the city. Free only shows when the organizer states there is no admission price, so a listing with no price is one we could not confirm rather than a free one.

No, and we keep them apart. Donation-based and pay-what-you-can nights ask for money at the door even though no fixed price is set, so they are not listed here as free. If you want those too, Explore carries them alongside everything else.

Galleries are the deepest seam — commercial and artist-run spaces around Dansaert, the canal and Ixelles are almost all free to walk into, and vernissages on Thursday evenings are free by convention. Beyond that, community centres, libraries and the cultural centres of each commune programme free talks and concerts, and the museums open free on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month.

About half start in the evening, between 17:00 and 21:00, and the rest are spread through the day. They run across the whole week rather than being saved for the weekend.
