CASTRATION MOVIE. CHAPTER III. JUNIOR GHOSTS – PREMORPHIC DRIFT; A FRAGMENTARY PASSAGE — Louise Weard CA — 2026 — 126’ — FIC — VO EN Castration Movie explores the overt transphobia of Izzy, a straight woman grappling with her partner Tiffany’s transition. It’s a premise that might put us off—were it not for the fact that the film is directed by Louise Weard, a trans woman filmmaker from the same artistic collective as Jane Schoenbrun. Weard’s take on this transmisogynistic spiral proves to be masterful, oscillating between cynicism, empathy, fascination, and horror, and ultimately provoking a true catharsis for anyone who has endured such nonsense.
