That same year, he founded his own queer label, Drama Queen Music, to escape the music industry's dictates. Since then, he has released one album a year, produced entirely in his small home studio with a sense of urgency and obsession bordering on mania. He speaks candidly about gay desire, masculinity, mental health, and non-heteronormative romances, all set to an indie-rock sound that can shift abruptly from major to minor keys, and back again.
