Cory Hanson is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from California. He is best known as the frontman of the psychedelic rock band Wand, which he founded in 2013. With Wand, he has become a defining voice in contemporary psych and indie rock, with a string of influential albums and a constantly evolving sound. In parallel, Hanson has built a solo career in which he freely explores genres: from dreamy folk to glam and cosmic country. His solo albums, including Pale Horse Rider (2021) and Western Cum (2023), showcase a more personal and melodic side of Hanson, without him losing his adventurous approach. In 2025, I Love People was released, on which he collaborates with his trusted bandmates from Wand. That collective dynamic, featuring Evan Backer and Evan Burrows among others, creates a rich sound with room for improvisation and ensemble playing.
