Genesis

Genesis finds a striking home in the Church of Our Lady of Victories at the Sablon, one of Belgium’s finest examples of Brabantine Gothic architecture. The centuries-old church provides a remarkable setting for the experience, as light, music and projections interact with the architecture, revealing its monumental spaces in a whole new light. Over 30 minutes, the audience follows the seven days of Creation as recounted in the Book of Genesis. From the creation of light to the emergence of humankind, the spectacle traces the creation of the heavens and the earth, the seas, the stars, plants and animals. A soundtrack combining classical music with contemporary compositions adds to the poetic and contemplative character of Genesis, creating an immersive experience in which the architecture, music and imagery come together.
