In/Out Project: Theatre in Prison
About this event
A theatre project led by Théâtre de la Chute, inspired by Camus' The Stranger. Théâtre de la Chute invites you to discover the IN/OUT Project, an original theatre initiative taking place within Haren Prison. Inspired by Albert Camus' The Stranger — the story of a man judged for refusing to conform to society's expectations — this project explores a fundamental question: how can individual freedom and collective responsibility be reconciled? Inside Haren Prison, writing workshops have given inmates the opportunity to explore this question by creating their own courtroom pleas. These deeply personal and powerful texts, shaped by their experiences and their perspectives on the world and that of Albert Camus, give a unique voice to those who are rarely heard. Today, their words reach beyond the prison walls. During the OUT event, held at the Evere Cultural Centre, l'Entrela', these pleas will be brought to the stage — either by their authors or by actors from Théâtre de la Chute. An evening combining theatre and discussion, with dialogue between the audience and participants at its heart. Because theatre should always be a way of bringing people together. Join us for an evening of connection, dialogue and reflection.
