Julien Poli

Festival Osmose: Violin Concert Julien Poli began playing the violin at the age of nine at the Conservatoire National de Région in Bayonne. By the age of eleven, he was already performing as a soloist with the conservatory's youth orchestra in Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Four years later, he was awarded a first prize in violin, followed the next year by an advanced performance prize. A series of concerts followed, in which he performed Bach's violin concertos and Brandenburg Concertos as a soloist. His studies later took him to the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Maryvonne Le Dizès (Paganini Competition first prize winner and concertmaster of the Ensemble intercontemporain) and obtained his diploma in musical studies. In 2007, he joined the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, studying violin and viola at master's level in Marc Kowalski's class. He later completed his teaching diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Liège in the class of Philippe Koch. Julien has received guidance from renowned musicians including Roland Daugareil, Gérard Poulet, Jean-Jacques Kantorov, Christophe Poiget, Véronique Bogaerts, Dimitri Ivanov and Ralph Gothoni, as well as the Artis, Prazak and Danel Quartets. He has also received scholarships from Horlait-Dapsens, the Lions Club and Raynaud-Zurfluh. He regularly performs with the Brussels Philharmonic, the orchestra of La Monnaie, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Opera of Liège and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, and has performed under conductors including Carlo Rizzi, Evelino Pidò, Stéphane Denève, Guy Van Waas, Giampaolo Bisanti, Alain Altinoglu and Hartmut Haenchen.
