L'infiltré • Océan

Océan is an “infiltrator” in the world of men. A child of the 1980s, he draws on how he learned to understand the categories of man and woman at the time, on his experience of gender transition, and on the history of science to recount his journey of learning about masculinity and whiteness. With honesty, he explores his ambivalent and complex relationship with them, as well as the paths towards understanding and care that he hopes to pass on to young people and their parents. In this hybrid solo performance, blending personal narrative and collective history through documentary archives, drawings and drag, the artist turns his intimate story into a lens through which to reflect on norms, expectations and collective narratives.
