If Brussels had an emblematic musical genre, like fado in Lisbon or tango in Buenos Aires, it would probably sound something like Peixe e Limão. With their warm, melancholic voices, the trio sings about urban themes in several languages, reflecting the soul of the European capital, a true crossroads of sounds, flavours and cultures. Much like this global city, the adventurous trio spices up its repertoire with influences from elsewhere: from bossa and flamenco to Irish folk, all woven into deeply personal songs. The personalities of the three musicians complement each other beautifully. Federico Bragetti plays the cello in a unique way, using it not only as a melodic voice or bass, but also as a percussion instrument, adding remarkable depth to Peixe e Limão’s sound. His fellow Italian Flavia Clementi, a singer at heart, began singing spontaneously and possesses a rare natural musicality and vocal warmth that immediately captivates. Finally, Bruges-born Thomas Van Bogaert, a classically trained guitarist, has a gift for weaving melodies that stay with you. The trio received the “Talent Emergent” award at the Belgian Worldwide Music Awards 2025.
