If you open-up a little more and go even deeper, the topics go further and the performances are wilder, there might be some audience participation of the worst kind, alongside an artisanal bakery and a weird collaboration with the quartier. Anal Pompidou reflects on the rise and fall of cultural mastodons like KANAL Pompidou, the brand new museum, promised for more than 10 years to the citizens of Brussels in the old Citroën garage, pseudo-financed by a bankrupt Brussels Government. Anal offers you in style some of the paradoxes the museum symbolizes and the effect it has on art-making and the community it promises to create. Each night Anal opens the space, and brings 3 different artists active within the Brussels art-field. An eclectic mix of Theater, Dance, performance and visual arts put together in a cabaret setting. Expect D. I. Y. special effects, meets homosexual desires, meets institutional-diarrhea, meets chaotic energy, meets unsubsidised haemorrhoids, meets you, the audience in the intimacy of the moment. “i’m so high on art, but so low on money. High meets low, low meets high, where am i?” Anal Pompidou (the alter-ego of Simon Van Schuylenbergh)
