Sheku Kanneh-Mason & Benjamin Grosvenor

A debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris and the Wiener Symphoniker: things are moving fast for the British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason. After his especially well-received recital with his sister Isata a few years back, he is now bringing along his compatriot, the pianist Benjamin Grosvenor, as his musical partner. On the programme are Beethoven's lyrical Sonata no. 2 for cello and piano and Rachmaninov's sparkling Cello Sonata. Although Nadia Boulanger owes most of her reputation to her work as a teacher and conductor, her Three Impressionist Pieces for cello and piano prove that she fully deserves to be considered a composer, along with her sister Lili.
