The Only Living Pickpocket in New York

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York is a stylish crime film and a tender, melancholic ode to a changing New York. Set against the city’s iconic streets, with an atmospheric soundtrack and an impressive cast including John Turturro, Giancarlo Esposito, Steve Buscemi and Jamie Lee Curtis, Noah Segan paints a world where old habits and faded glory are increasingly under pressure. Harry Lehman (John Turturro) is an old-school pickpocket in a time when his profession is slowly dying out. Still, he keeps stealing to make ends meet and to care for his seriously ill wife, Rosie. When what seems like a simple theft unexpectedly brings him something of great value, Harry becomes entangled in a dangerous web of criminals. What follows is a nerve-racking race through the streets of New York, as Harry must rely on his old-school skills, his network and his instincts to save himself and get his stolen goods back. With suspense, dry humor, melancholy and a sharp eye for the city, The Only Living Pickpocket in New York tells a story about loyalty, faded glory and what remains when the world around you changes forever.
