The now legendary Brussels celebration of urban dance returns this year in a slightly different format, centred at the Théâtre National. But whilst the format has changed slightly, the spirit remains the same: a joyful coming together of cultures. This year, Urban Dance Caravan takes over the Théâtre National in its entirety and pays tribute to the Congo, Morocco and Cameroon thanks to collaborations with The Last Popper, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Goma Dance Festival and Live Room. The evening begins in the foyer, transformed for the occasion into a cypher, before continuing in the Grande salle, where the finalist teams from the Detours Festival battle – co-creator of the event since 2022 – will face off to rapturous applause! An overview of urban dance styles: breakdancing, house, Afro, electro, krump, juggling and more, all engaging in dialogue and facing off within a shared collective energy.
