V-Kurated #18 - Ekany, Eddy Ape, Roxy Rose

V-Kurated is a series of free concert nights showcasing the wealth of emerging Belgian talent. Three acts give it their all at every edition. This time, Roxy Rose, Eddy Ape and EKANY share the stage, followed by DJ sets from Brownsugar and Ms Mavy. Roxy Rose uses her voice as an instrument, moving between poetry, nu-soul, hip-hop and soft R&B. Eddy Ape brings his self-described “Smooth Banger”: French variété, R&B and neo-soul driven by the rhythms and energy of rap. His lyrics explore love, doubt and his Congolese roots. DJ and producer EKANY blends electronic beats, hip-hop soul and African influences. His music has already received support from James Blake, Jyoty and Damso. Brownsugar and Ms Mavy then take over the decks. The latter blends future beats and soul with Afro, Latin and Caribbean sounds. As always, V-Kurated is completely free.
