About this event

Franz Woyzeck is a hapless, hopeless soldier; alone and powerless in society, assaulted from all sides by forces he cannot control. This is Werner Herzog's 1979 German film adaptation of Georg Büchner's unfinished play. The film runs 80 minutes. It is shown in the original German with French subtitles in Room 1 of Cinéma Galeries. The screening is presented by Mélina Wasson. It is part of a series of special screenings organised with La Monnaie / De Munt. Ahead of the opera house's new production of Wozzeck, the series pairs two films that echo the opera's themes. The cinema's pages mention reduced-price options and the Cineville Pass, UGC Unlimited and Carte 5 places Galeries subscriptions.
