Garage29 is now Metarage and remains a research and creation structure in the performing arts, dedicated in particular to emerging choreography. Having listened to the developments of Brussels-based artists since 2010, Garage29 has, over the years, developed experimental working frameworks to foster the emergence of stage ideas. Today, a new chapter begins with the move to a former printing works in Saint-Gilles. Metarage is structured as a link in the chain , allowing young artists, fresh out of schools or companies where they have performed, to build their own artistic universe and become part of the professional network. In this sense, the space is an experiment bordering on the institutional, articulating the creative urgency of emerging artists, the long-term vision of programmers, and the expectations of audiences. Metarage supports artists in their initial creative steps through an experimental residency program, Metalab (formerly G.INCUBATOR) and a creative residency program, Metaloop (formerly the Summer Residencies). The creations that take shape in the place meet the public, in forms that are always evolving, every month through the Lundynamites and once a year during the OFFestival . Every first Monday evening of the month, you'll find three proposals from artists of diverse backgrounds, deliberately different, unusual, works in progress, experimental, or even fully finished but not widely seen. Enough to fill you with adventurous new artistic experiences and offer you Mondays of discovery worthy of a Friday night. Lundynamite also features venues to discover or rediscover in Schaerbeek and Saint-Josse, with a small extension to Saint-Gilles, and is co-programmed by four partners: Halles de Schaerbeek, Théâtre de la Vie, BAMP, and Metarage.
