Bouchra

Bouchra, a Moroccan filmmaker living in New York, is paralysed by the fear of the blank page. A call from her mother in Casablanca brings memories flooding back. Their exchange, tender yet complex, becomes the engine of a creative breakthrough, opening the way to a journey through family ties, lineage, and the first stirrings of love. This animated film, which is formally inventive and imbued with a powerful blend of sensuality and melancholy, explores the memories of coming out through the lens of a mother-daughter relationship, set in a world of anthropomorphic animals.
