About this event
Cinéclube Panorama Brasilis presents a special screening dedicated to Brazilian filmmaker Camila de Moraes, featuring MÃE SOLO (2021, 20 min) and O CASO DO HOMEM ERRADO (2017, 77 min), followed by an online discussion with the director. Born in Rio Grande do Sul, Camila de Moraes is a filmmaker, screenwriter and journalist whose work explores race, gender, memory and social justice. Her films have been widely presented at festivals in Brazil and abroad. MÃE SOLO follows women raising their children alone, exposing the everyday challenges of single motherhood. O CASO DO HOMEM ERRADO revisits the 1987 killing of Júlio César de Melo Pinto, mistaken for a criminal and shot by the Military Police, exposing one of Brazil's most emblematic cases of police violence and structural racism.
