Drum & Beer #43 : Gobs Bday Bash w/ Bop

For our 43rd edition we’ll be celebrating Gobs' 30th birthday ! @gobsdebxl, also known as that guy with impeccable taste in colourful shirts, is no stranger to the Drum & Beer nights, and we're absolutely thrilled to host his bday bash. His path in Drum & Bass started a while ago and he has built up a lot of performing experience, put out 3 releases on Space Pirate Recordings, a dubplate on BXL Underground and now he is over the moon to present to you his most complete hybrid DJing and MPC fingerdrumming set to date. For almost a decade, it's been Gobs' dream to play alongside this night's headliner and one of the best students to graduate from @medschoolmusic, @iambop. To label Bop's music as minimal is a blatant case of false advertising. Bop's productions, which have only become more varied, complex and enthralling over the years, leave you captivated as much as his DJ sets will get you bobbing your head like a demented woodpecker. His releases on Hospital Records and through his own label, @microfunkmusic, are among the most interesting and forward thinking in drum & bass as well as garage and dubstep. We're delighted to have him play a 2 hour set at a Drum & Beer event and can't wait to see what he has in store for us. Gobs and Bop will be joined by @hiraethdnb, one of Belgium's top DJs, producers and co-organizer of the @headspace.dnb events, as well as @vjc_toria aka VIKI from @respectthebreakz, @dianaisfunny aka Gush, Dooskoe on vocal duty, and Cellarman aka the Drum & Beer boss to close the night. Located in Brussels’ European district at 104 Rue d'Arlon, between rue de la Loi and rue Belliard, Paramour is a cultural center known for its unique atmosphere and its rich and varied program. Paramour is a temporary occupation, located in an unused office building with the right to occupy it for a few years, until its renovation starts. The walls, floor, ceiling and pillars are all made of untreated concrete, which gives it a very raw atmosphere.
