After an absence of several years, Carolina Fernández returns to Rossicontemporary with "Congé de maternité", bringing together a dozen new oil paintings exploring play, suspended time, creation and the reclaiming of self after becoming a mother. Through scenes of daily life and intimate narratives, the Colombian-born, Belgium-based artist weaves together memories, games, music and stories from her childhood in Colombia, alongside symbolic motifs such as dog silhouettes and Elizabethan collars for animals.
